Since January 2025, Valerian Glonti has directed four productions at the Theater im Schlossgarten Arnstadt — from a children's mystery inside a 300-year-old church to a glamour-and-chaos show with 25 performers. Absolution, his most ambitious work to date, premieres in December 2027.
A Show Liturgy of the Night
A provocative theatrical spectacle featuring more than 25 performers, Absolution confronts church, rebellion, taboo, guilt, desire, and liberation through a radical, intense, and confrontational staging. It is Valerian Glonti's most ambitious work to date — and his first for mature audiences only.

Where chaos meets glamour.
For one evening, be someone completely different. Or finally, yourself.
Concept & Direction — Valerian Glonti
Glamageddon is a rush of colour, music, and emotion — one of the largest productions in the Theater Arnstadt's history, with more than 20 performers live on stage.
It tells a story of searching, failing, and rising again — of the power to reinvent yourself. An evening full of contrasts: raw and glittering, dramatic and playful, loud and, at times, completely silent. Professional musical performers share the stage with strong regional talent, dressed in more than 80 extravagant costumes designed by Berlin-based designers.
This is not ordinary theatre. It is pop culture, performance, and feeling — a show that breaks down boundaries and touches hearts.
By popular demand, Glamageddon returns to Theater Arnstadt on 19–20 December 2026 — once again with a special guest performer.

A Christmas musical adventure for the whole family.
Presented by Theater Arnstadt and Arto Entertainment in partnership with the Ballett- und Tanzschule Arnstadt and the Ilm-Kreis Landratsamt, Mission Weihnachten Retten is one of Valerian Glonti's family productions as Intendant of Theater Arnstadt.
A family Christmas musical adventure following a band of elves on a quest to save the holiday, staged with professional acting, live vocals, and full choreography.
Beyond its two theatre performances, the production has also toured to schools 18 times as an educational programme.
History and mystery, inside a 300-year-old church.
Staged inside Arnstadt's historic Bachkirche — where Johann Sebastian Bach once served as organist — this interactive production invites young audiences to help solve the mystery of the Bach Church Girl.
Local schoolchildren become part of the story itself, searching the church alongside the cast before her tale is finally told — a production built on curiosity, history, and the transformative power of music.
By popular demand, the production is returning to the Bachkirche again this year.
An evening where anything is possible.
Until the curtain rises, the programme stays secret. Every act is personally and strictly selected by Valerian Glonti, who looks above all for intelligence, artistic quality, exceptional talent, and a distinctive voice. Cabaret, classical music, or something entirely unexpected — only what truly convinces makes it to the stage.
Following the resounding success of the first edition on 17 May 2026, the encore follows on 9 May 2027: an evening full of surprises whose programme nobody knows — except the Intendant.
Cultural work beyond the stage.
Alongside Theater Arnstadt, Valerian Glonti runs ArtHaus Valerian — a cultural and art agency dedicated to finding talented artists and presenting their work to new audiences.
“Geistige Formen” — an exhibition by MAIKOKO.
For two weeks, ArtHaus Valerian took over Erfurt's Pop-up Store F11 with Geistige Formen — an exhibition of abstract, sensually-charged work by Hamburg-based artist MAIKOKO, closing with a live artperformance by Aero on 20 April.
Local and regional art, out in the open.
As part of Sömmerda's annual Stadtfest, ArtHaus Valerian organised an open-air exhibition of local and regional artists — dozens of paintings spanning a wide range of styles, displayed for the public across the town square.
